Community Partner and description:
-My community partner was Freedom Kolb with the HSE Schools Foundation. She, along with the other members of the Board, strive to enhance educational opportunities, inspire excellence, and engage the community to foster a legacy of achievement.
Challenge:
-My partner and I were offered the challenge to inspire students to mobilize and give back to their local schools as well as inspiring the community to follow their lead. We were also encouraged to unite parents, teachers, and students together to inspire excellence and raise donation. I was attracted to this challenge because I thought it would be a cool way to give back to the great teachers at my school who prepare me for college. Also I wanted to help educate students who were unfamiliar with the program, about the scholarships offered by the Foundation.
Group Member:
-I had one other group member, Daisy Myers. We worked great together and got a lot accomplished.
Project Timeline:
-
Division:
- I contributed by giving different ideas to the group about possible ways to inspire students. One idea I gave actually originated from a different group which sounded interesting and innovative. This idea was to downsize their logo into sticker form which they could then hand out to high school students, a trend that is really popular with teenagers my age where people place the stickers on water bottles and laptops. I gave an interview on the HSE TV news, raising awareness about the foundation and what they do.
