Passion Project
The second semester of Innovations, we were given a large amount of room to follow any path we want for a project. We were given two weeks for each project in which case we would either move on or stick with it. At first I started the fitness blog, as aforementioned on my other page. Then I decided that it wasn’t really what I was looking for in a project, so that led to the question of what I would do next. It made be seriously consider what I was truly passionate about, and then it hit me: opening an online bakery. It is something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl and now thought was possible because of this class. Although the bakery is still a very long work in progress, I have created a name and logo for my business. The name for the business actually came from my teacher Ms. Habig, who noticed my want to incorporate charities with my business. She suggested the name Giving Bake and I immediately loved it. Then I worked with fellow classmate Derek Haag to design a logo which turned out better than I ever could have hoped.
Giving Bake is a business designed to be customer friendly and interactive. It is going to donate to charities every 4 months with about 10% going towards one that will be decided by a customer after getting his/her name from a drawing.Since I will be working out of home, I will need a permit to work, so that will need to be figured out. However, one helping factor will be the trip I am going on over the summer. It is a month-long, global entrepreneurship program in Ireland where I hope to learn more profesional skills to help my bakery flourish. Overall, I am super excited to eventually open my business and hope that everyone who reads can try my food!
